Research outline and main results
The research consisted in a monographic study of the Italian machine tool sector in relation to the international technological arena. The research aims at the empirical analysis of international competitiveness. The technological, innovative, productive and marketing capabilities of mechanical firms was particularly examined. The empirical analysis concerns patent activities of the Italian firms and their main competitors, trade and foreign investments. The empirical study is also carried out through a specifically designed questionnaire.
