Franco Malerba
Franco Malerba is professor of Applied Economics at Bocconi University and director of KITeS (Center on Knowledge, Internationalization and TEchnology Studies). He has published in scholarly journals and has books on innovation; innovation systems; industrial dynamics; theory of the firm; sectoral studies (in particular computers, software, microelectronics and telecommunications); international specialization and competitiveness; technology and development; Italian national system of innovation; competition, industrial and technology policy; European public policy. From 2002 to 2004 he has been President of the International Schumpeter Society, and from 2003 to 2005 he has been President of EARIE ( European Association of Research in Industrial Economics). He is Editor of the Journal "Industrial and Corporate Change", Advisory Editor of the Journal "Research Policy", Associate Editor of the "Journal of Evolutionary Economics", and member of the Scientific Advisory Boardof the International Journal of Industrial Organization. From 2003 he has been Member of the Advisory Board of the Max Plank Institute Institute of Economics - Jena. He has been European Coordinator of, and participant in, several EU funded projects. He has carried out research and collaborations with OECD, EUREKA, American National Science Foundation, ENEA (Italian Energy Agency) Italian Ministry of Science and Technology, Italian Ministry of Industry, Confindustria, Assolombarda, Lombardy Region, American Enterprise Institute.
